UNC/RENCI research team joins effort to build data infrastructure for geosciences

CHAPEL HILL – RENCI and the School of Information and Library Sciences (SILS) at UNC Chapel Hill have joined a nationwide effort to build an integrated data management infrastructure that will help scientists better understand the complex processes of the planet Earth, from meteorology to solid earth sciences to hydrology and oceanography.

RENCI, Duke to build experimental networking infrastructure

CHAPEL HILL, Dec. 9, 2011–RENCI at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Duke University in partnership with IBM will lead a new project to build a nationwide test bed for networking and networked cloud computing.

National Science Foundation taps Carolina researchers to develop national data infrastructure

The National Science Foundation has funded the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to lead a multi-institutional team that will build and deploy a prototype national data management infrastructure that addresses some of the key data challenges facing scientific researchers in the digital age.

RENCI-Duke network project moves forward with new funding
