Join us for a joint initiative between the Kenan Institute’s Rethinc. Labs at UNC Chapel Hill and the IBM Q Hub at NC State as we bring together leading professionals and academics to discuss research in quantum computing and its application to quantitative finance.
Rethinc. Labs and the NC State IBM Q Hub will co-host the Quantum Fintech Symposium at the Carolina Inn. The program is co-chaired by Eric Ghysels, Bernstein Distinguished Professor of Economics at UNC Chapel Hill, Professor of Finance at Kenan-Flagler Business School and Faculty Research Director of Rethinc.Labs, and Patrick Dreher, Research Professor int the Department of Computer Science and Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Physics at NC State University. Quantum Fintech – or Q Fintech – promotes interdisciplinary research in quantum computer science and quantitative finance. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, derivative pricing, hedging, portfolio choice, default risk models, Monte Carlo simulation, machine learning, market microstructure, market clearing, cryptography, security, the impact of quantum computing on financial markets and society.
