RENCI Director Daniel A. Reed will be inducted into the Academy of Computer Science at the University of Missouri-Rolla, the academy announced recently. The academy honors alumni of the UMR computer science department with 20 or more years of experience in the field for their outstanding leadership abilities, contributions to the profession and involvement with UMR students and faculty. The academy also serves as an advisory group to the computer science department.
Reed graduated summa cum laud from UMR in 1978 with a B.S. in computer science. He went on to earn an M.S. and Ph.D in computer science from Purdue University. A banquet and induction ceremony will be held in Rolla on April 21.
