This presentation explores texts of the State of the Union addresses by American presidents. It analyzes the most frequent words in those addresses using PCA and interprets the new dimensions that are received as a result of applying PCA: the first dimension correlates with historical eras, while the second dimension correlates with economic situation in the country. The presentation also investigates words most frequently used by democratic and most frequently used by republican presidents.
