ORCA (Open Resource Control Architecture) is a software originating at Duke, currently being developed jointly by RENCI and Duke as a Control Framework candidate for the future NSF GENI (Global Environment for Network Innovation). GENI, in essence, is a specific kind of a cloud and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) offering. RENCI and Duke are leveraging ORCA to create a distributed resource orchestration system to serve future science.
