Flood sensors to aid county in evacuation planning
Chapel Hill, NC, September 5, 2007 – A hybrid network of flood and weather sensors to be installed over the next two months will give Brunswick County emergency managers advance warning about how fast water is rising along critical flood-prone roads in the county.

A new water view
Three years ago, floods caused by Hurricanes Ivan and Frances devastated western North Carolina, claiming a dozen lives and leaving behind millions of dollars in property damage in and around Asheville.
RENCI assists state in floodplain remapping
